Navigating Multiple Medical Diagnoses and Social Interactions

I am a vendor at a store and volunteer there a lot. The owner and I were chatting last night about our myriad of medical issues we share and asked me “So you’re diagnosed with Epilepsy, Bipolar, and MS?” And I nodded and then said “and autism, OCD, and CPTSD.” And she just stared and said “wow.” Cuz she’s got one diagnosis, not 6. And is self diagnosed autistic due to her son being autistic. she and I already bond over our medical experiences and for some reason that “wow” response registered in my head as “how are you standing and being outside?” I joked it off, but later at night I was thinking about it and I didn’t know how to feel.

I think that was a congratulatory wow 👏 Good for you 1.) For being at work/volunteering 2.) For being confident with talking about your mental health issues openingly 3.) For getting up and proving your mental illnesses you are in charge of you own life!
