I've had mri of brain and spinal. I've also had spinal tap done. The brain shows some lesions but nothings else does. My neurologist is 95% sure I have MS because of all the physical issues along with the brain scan but has referred me to a specialist in March. Has anyone else had this happen? If so what was your final diagnosis?

I was seen in the hospital on a holiday had mri then referred to a neurologist who did more lumbar puncture and then to a GI bc my labs were all jacked up from steroids! It has been 19 years since the diagnosis along with a few other genetic diseases and still keeping positive! Yes, they are trying to rule everything out before putting you a medication not meant for you. 💕 best of luck!! We are always here!

I did not have a spinal tap but I had mri for brain and spine which were pretty definitive. My first neuro was a younger guy with not alot of ms specific experience so I did go and find a neuroscience ms specialist that can also handle the immune system side and not just the ms

Mine was severe enough just mri was enough to diagnose, but normally they will confirm with spinal tap. They should’ve known from spinal tap but maybe he just wants to be super sure
