I had my thyroid checked a few years ago. The MD told me it was fine. What triggered your diagnosis? Maybe I need a different test. I’d like to know more about your diagnosis, if you’re willing to share

I found that being taken off Xanax full time & only using it “as needed” has helped. I’m on Lexapro daily for anxiety. And I’ve recently been diagnosed w/hypothyroidism, I’ve heard that could effect memory. Have you looked into that?

I have been dealing with this for over 8 years. I was in my early 30s when it started. My short term memory is trash. Ironically, I can remember the month, year, and the circumstance that caused me to take notice. I was not on benzos when it began. I was seeing a neurologist in 2017 for another issue and I mentioned this problem and that it was upsetting me. She sent me for neuropsych testing (in the same office). The psychologist’s report said I was dealing with mild “slips” and that polypharmacy could a cause. He also advised to try mono tasking instead of multitasking. Anyway, I really don’t have any tips. Just wanted to say there was someone else out there with this problem. I have slowly learned to accept it.

I’ve tried all of the benzos. I’m on Effexor too. I’ve tried others, but Effexor works the best
