Hi bendy buddies šŸ¤— My EDS diagnosis is new, are there any mobility aids you use that help relieve symptoms and did you purchase them online or through your doctor? šŸ™

I count on my gelly wrist and thumb braces, (search amazon for gel wrist support), and I love kt tape for my bigger joints (alcohol helps remove if your skin is as prone to tearing as mine is) and I actually love the dollar tree mini freezer pack and dollar tree neoprene wrist brace/support. Those are some of my favorites I need something for my elbow that helps (damaged my bursa in a fall a few weeks ago and it had been unstable but havenā€™t been able to tape it because of swelling.

If you want to train your own service dog good breeds are Collies, Golden Retrievers, Labradors, German Shepherds, but you do not need to limit yourself to these breeds my current service dog is a Havanese and Bichon Frise mix who I rescued and he's been the best service dog I've ever had. Previously I had a Rottweiler Lab mix and she was awesome

Yea I imagine there would be a large wait list. Thanks for your help, itā€™s something we are considering

@YouCantSeeMyPain, you can go through trainers to get a service dog but this is expensive and has a long waitlist, there are charities such as NEADS who help people get service dogs but that has an even larger waitlist. You can train your own service dog, I've been training dogs all my life and trained my own service dog to help me with my EDS and Epilepsy. I find it better to train my dogs for my personal needs rather than someone else training them because they get to know your triggers and needs better. Let me know if i can help

Thanks everyone! What are your go-to mobility aids? I was thinking about purchasing firearm crutches but wasnā€™t sure about the pressure it would put in my shoulders and palms.

I have a service dog who aids in mobility. As well as a walked and wheel chair when needed

Hey there, I purchased my cane at a local store. After I checked it online I saw it on Amazon for half the price šŸ˜¢
