Missing Church Due to Overstimulation

ok so this is a question for Christians that go to church & I'm not trying to offend anyone & if I do I'm sorry. but is it alright for me to miss a day or 2 when I get overwhelmed & overstimulated the day before? I had a fellow coworker & believer say that even when we think it will overwhelm us it soothes the soul. and I get that but I'm not ready to go in a crowded church with adults & kids & loud music. I just want some truthful validation, so don't try to spare my feelings, just be polite. and thanks

If you can find ways of having community, worship and pray. God doesn't blame us for our struggles. If you need to take a break, find a calmer church, go online. What ever you need to do.

I'm not a Christian anymore, but the church I grew up in had this thing called "church has left the building." The first Sunday after Christmas was exclusively online. One of the church's beliefs was that "the church" was the people, not the building. Being a Christ-follower meant a real relationship with God and Jesus, independent of how often a person attended church. Your coworker likely meant well, but what works for them might not be right for you. Church, faith, and spirituality are between you and your God. You can consider other opinions and advice, but ultimately your relationship with God is between you and God; no one else gets to decide how that should work. And a loving, merciful God wouldn't want you to cause yourself any kind of harm when you could avoid it by worshipping or praying alone.

Take all the time you need. Even Jesus needed time tk himself. God doesn’t want you in an uncomfortable situation that can cause confusion

My grandmother was devoted and would watch sermons every Sunday morning. Worship is about your connection with God first and foremost. Maybe find a good online sermon with a focus on God first and not the politics and corruption I keep seeing in too many churches (not all there are many that are wonderful places of community.)

I'm no longer a Christian, but when I was I remember my grandmother would always tell me that if you can't make it to church because you're feeling ill (mentally or physically counted the same for her) that's okay, but find a way to honor him be it in prayer, reading the bible, or moments of reflection. do what you can because God loves us all the same and knows when we are doing our best.

thank you. I just feel like I'm about to cry & after work I was shaking I was so overwhelmed. I just really needed to know I'm not doing anything wrong because I love God & my church but I need to care for me too. So this honestly helps soothe me. So thank you 😊
