Misdiagnosed with Bipolar Disorder: Could it be Autism?

Has anyone here been misdiagnosed with Bipolar disorder when they are actually autistic? I’m in the process of getting an autism diagnosis and I have been told that my bipolar may have been an incorrect diagnosis. (I was diagnosed 10 years ago when I was 18 with bipolar 1, I never knew so many symptoms could overlap with autism).

Have you looked into highly sensitive person (hsp)(sensory processing sensitivity)? I was diagnosed with bipolar, but felt like I could have been autistic. Then I ran across a questionnaire about being highly sensitive, it explained so much about my symptoms. I still believe I am bipolar, it runs in my family. And sometimes they overlap.

Not bipolar but borderline yes, it could be co-morbid with autism?

what was the process like when you realized it wasn’t borderline and was actually austism?

it’s possible that I have both but when I look at my bipolar symptoms that overlap they do make more sense with autism. Most of all my bipolar symptoms are actually sensory related.
