Why don't I recognize myself in the mirror?

Is there a specific reason I don't recognise myself in the mirror? why do I look so different all the sudden? my body looks like It did yesterday, but I don't look like 'me'.

I have found that this is totally normal for those with derealization/depersonalization disorder! Whenever I’m in a really intense bout of it I tend to avoid even looking at myself for this reason. It can be very uncomfortable and challenging. Although it has been about five years since my symptoms were at their absolute worst, I’ve realized it no longer happens as often and I just live with it. It doesn’t really absorb my entire life anymore. (: It gets better, I promise!
