Dealing with Migraines in Grad School

I have been having consistent migraines. I’m currently in grad school and while im keeping up, I can feel the quality of my work starting to slip. Has anyone else had this experience in school? What did you do? Im just starting a preventative but am still working on managing them.

The only way i made it through school was accommodations. Extended time for projects and tests. A quiet and dark room for testing with a proctor. Paper copy of tests rather than using electonic screen.

I’ve had them for 15 years and ultimately had to get Botox when they got really bad. Tracking my triggers, eating super clean, drinking lots of water and working out regularly really helps. So did regular massages to relieve tension in my back and neck. It’s probably hard to manage stress in grad school, but doing yoga or other activities that help minimize stress would also help. Also aleve is the only thing that helps with the pain when I get one. Ibuprofen doesn’t work for me.
