Migraines After Botox: Should I Stop?

I noticed every time I get Botox I get migraines that same day and it lasts for 3 days. This is only my 2nd round…. Should I just stop taking botox for migraine? I’m currently on emgality too which helps a lot … any suggestions?

i get botox for my migraines, it did take me until my 3rd round to see its full effects and its been amazing for me. it also doesnt kick in right away for me. it wont trigger a migraine when i get it, but it doesnt prevent them for about a week. once it settles in its amazing until it wears off before my next appointment. i would talk to your doctor about your concerns, and see if its helping aside from the week or so before and after your appointment?

My neurologist started giving me a toradol injection at my Botox appointment to try to help with that same kind of reaction. I’ve only done one session with the toradol combo but it seemed to make a difference. Maybe worth asking about that? It can definitely take a few rounds for Botox to work!
