Experiences with Migraine Preventive Medicines

What have your experiences been with migraine preventive medicines? I had good luck with Aimovig but then stopped using it because it was too expensive. Now my migraines are flaring again. Also, I'm curious about connections between chronic migraine, fibromyalgia, and ADHD.

I have a long list of things I've tried. ( Medication and non-medication). Currently, I'm taking Aimovig, Qulipta, and, as needed, Nurtec I can't take NSAIDS regularly bc I have RA. But I also have fibromyalgia, and ADD. If you have any questions, feel free to message me.

I currently take Tizanidine and Nadalol before bed and it’s helped with frequent headaches and waking up in pain. I still usually get around 1-2 migraines a week though and use sumatriptan for it. I can’t take it anywhere unless I’m able to sleep cause it makes me so drowsy :(

Nurtec. Isn't working currently. I thought it was helping but I am having migraines almost daily.

I failed all of the common prevention meds. Botox has worked wonders for me. However, it does wear off about 2 weeks before your next treatment.

Topamax works okay. It helps with the light sensitivity/noise, etc. I notice a difference without it for sure. Nothing has helped quite like my injections. I take Ajovy once a month. Truly life changing for me.

Yeah, Topamax just made my migraines worse and had tons of awful side effects. I super wish it had worked for me. I did Aimovig for about 7 months before the savings card ran out. It felt like a miracle. Now I'm trying to get Emgality at a reduced rate, at least until my Aimovig card restarts. I feel like I'm just going to be cobbling different injections together for the foreseeable future.
