Migraine or Just a Headache?

idk if anyone can relate to this but I never know if what I’m experiencing is a killer headache or a migraine. I have tension headaches nearly everyday so when I get a particularly painful headache I classify it as a migraine. I was raised by parents that always told me that i was too sensitive and overreacting but now idk what is real

Can you help? connect today

I have the same problem, you not over reacting!! Migraine are more so terrible headaches and often nausea, we’re you don’t do anything but sit in a black room, I was getting them frequently and still do along with tension headaches, my doctor put me on magnesium with helps a lot, your headaches could also be from medication but mine are hereditary

If it’s truly migraines, I recommend asking about one of the injectable preventatives. I’ve done both aimovig and ajovy. Ajovy has been a life saver for me. But I also have rescue meds for when they are bad.

i get migraines and tension headaches often but i tend to put on some sunglasses, turn off all the lights, close my eyes, and put on light classical music. that’s what works for me, but sometimes music can hurt more than help.

Headaches usually don't last as long as a migraine, and only have the pain, not sensory issues or other physical symptoms like nausea.

I just have a lot of comorbid symptoms bc I’m always nauseous and dizzy and sensitive to light so all of that plus a killer headache is what I classify as migraines but I just feel like I’m lying idk it’s so frustrating
