I suffer from chronic migraines and I’ve never had any medication work on them. Today my doctor prescribed a migraine injection pen for me to take to prevent them. Has anyone else taken these?

I’ve been on Aimovig and it took like 3 months to truly kick in but I’ve gone from having 15-20 days with a headache a month to in January I had 4 days in the whole month
I’m currently on month 3 of Emgality and I’m not sure it’s working for me. My best friend gets Ajovy injections and that works for her!

I also had an allergic reaction to Emgality. I take Ubrelvy as needed and made a lot of diet changes that have seemed to help lessen the frequency. The Low FODMAP diet has helped with the frequency and also how my medications digest so they work better now.
I've been taking Aimovig for a few years. I used to get migraines almost every time I was around my triggers (10+ migraines a month, lasting hours, aura, light/sound sensitivity) and it took them down to 2-3 a month and much less severe. I take Nurtec when I do get a migraine and it kills it in 30 mins tops with little to no side symptoms left (eg no aura, sound/light sensitivity). Since I started this regimen 2-3 years ago I've only had 2 or 3 total migraines that I couldn't kill within a few hours.
I tried emgality but had an allergic reaction to it sooo my doctor doesn’t want to try another one. I used ubrelvy and that worked for a while but recently stopped working so now I take nurtec OTC and it’s AMAZING! My migraines are complex hemiplegic migraines
I take emgality, it doesn't take them away completely but it's supposed to reduce the amount of headaches you get as well as the severity of them. the longer you use the injection the better its supposed to work
Yes it has taken mine down to 1 or 2 a month but it took a month or two to really work
