i've been doing a lot of breathing exercises lately. i've also been focusing a lot on reframing my thoughts and recognizing thinking traps. comparing my anxious thoughts to the facts of the situation is often helpful for me.

@shamelissly that said, i also take propranolol in advance for stressful situations, and smoke marijuana to reduce panic attacks when it's appropriate to do so.

"Some methods to manage anxiety include grounding techniques such as listing 5 things you can see, 4 things you can physically feel, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell, and 1 thing you can taste. Other methods include guided breathing videos on YouTube, listening to music, distracting oneself with hobbies or funny videos, talking with friends or family, and using the 4 7 8 breathing method. Some people also find comfort in petting their dogs, using a weighted blanket, taking warm baths, and watching comfort TV. Counting out loud, driving with music blasting, dipping your face in ice water, getting a tight hug, and making close friends aware of what you’re going through for support are also suggested. Breathing exercises and meditation, walking in nature, and giving oneself something enjoyable yet not too overwhelming to focus on are also recommended. The Box Breathing method and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) have also been found helpful."
