hi everyone, I'm most interested in finding out what treatment, therapy and/or meds others have found beneficial.

Thanks for the replies. Currently I take effexor daily and believe that it helps some with my anxiety. I also have a benzodiazepine prescription that does a good job of squelching the anxiety when it's really high but I don't like taking that because of it's addictive nature. I've searched and searched for somebody that has experience in treating cptsd. In the last 4 years I have tried for therapists that said they had experience with cptsd. Unfortunately each of them turned out to either not know the difference between PTSD and cptsd. I've been to a lot of therapy in my 62 years of life so I'm determined not to waste anymore time with therapist that aren't experienced treating cptsd. There is a guy named Roland Bal online that has helped me a lot. From my perspective he is in the best source of how this trauma impacts the mind and body and also has a website with articles and treatment options. He's in England so I'm on his waiting list for teletherapy. All the best everyone.

I tried medication and had a severe adverse reaction and almost died. So I prefer weekly therapy, using a service animal, TMS and natural things like getting in nature, meditation and cannabis. It’s mainly about understanding my triggers and how I have to treat each one differently.

I do counseling, medication therapy, finding a healthy outlet...such as exercise, hobbies, pets...

@bokani I take an antidepressant, day time anti-anxiety and a different anti-anxiety at night to help me fall asleep. I have also had chronic insomnia for about 30 yrs. Animals, being out in nature, gardening & my volunteer gig are very therapeutic for me
