Menstrual Cycle and Interstitial Cystitis Flares

Hi! Question for anyone who experiences a menstrual cycle with Interstitial Cystitis. Does your period often bring about a terrible flare? I often find myself unable to go to class or work during my period due to this. I haven't had luck skipping a period with BC, it always breaks through :(

Yes mine did but everyone is so different- symptoms, med and procedures etc that work for them

I take back to back birth control so I won’t have periods that cause flare ups

You could maybe ask your dr for a medication to have on hand for that. I’m blanking on the name, but if you say it makes you pee Cheeto orange, they’ll know what you’re talking about. I’ve had good experiences with it during flares.
