I saw my epileptologist the other day, and he said that the seizures are what cause the memory problems, not the meds. I’ve been seeing him for nearly a decade now and trust him more than any other doctor I’ve seen—he’s such a kind man. But I can’t help but wonder. I only have a seizure once every year or two, yet my memory seems to get worse over time, gradually. It’s not like I forget everything only after a seizure. Also, my online acquaintances who have seizures all seem to agree that it’s the meds. So what do y’all think? Speaking of forgetting things, I completely forgot to ask him about this new RNS surgery thing. Has anyone had it, and if so, does it work? He also wants me to limit my drinking to only two drinks at a time. 😑 Three is too much he says. He’s also considering putting me on a third med. Something new I’ve never heard of. Depends on how my labs come back.
