My doctor has suggested using medicinal cannabis for my chronic pain and fibromylagia. Has it helped for others? and any major side effects I should know about?

I’ve used it for pain management! It helps me but sometimes it makes me too anxious if I do a little too much (I have a veeerry low tolerance) I heard just CBD can be a good alternative for people who don’t like the mental effects of weed! I’m planning on trying it soon :)

@Pain_Warrior89 my gp had that he specialises with medicinal cannabis and lgbtqia+ people on his profile. At the time I chose him (like a month ago) he was the only doc out of hundreds I looked at that had lgbtqia friendly on his profile. Medicinal cannabis has also only recently been legalised here (like in the last couple years)

I don't personally use it, only because I am allergic to it. There are so many benefits to using it if you find the right strain and strength for you. My son uses it not only for pain management but also for depression and anger management. I certainly can tell a difference not only in the way he walks or moves around but also in his ability to control his anger. On the days that he uses it, his body is not as stiff. It is not a cure-all, but using it as a supplement to other therapeutic methods, like massage, medications, counseling, meditation, yoga (or other types exercise), etc. could be beneficial. I wish I wasn't allergic to it. I would definitely use it to help manage my pain.

yes, fibromyalgia isn't for the faint of hearts, I was diagnosed in my early teens and was wheelchair bound it was extremely painful, my parents took me to a lot of doctors, specialists, even a scientist we travelled just to find help for me. I'm thankfully doing okay and managing to walk 4km a daily with my dog! I found both holistic and western medication help me. But cannibas with the thc really helped my depression and fibro pain - it doesn't cure it just makes it bearable, and I find myself laughing and being able to relax more easily. All u can do is give it a go, and cannibas also it can take a bit to reach a therapeutic level in your bloodstream. :) All the best

Hi Alex, as a very anxious and sensitive person and diagnosed with fibromyalgia as antidepressants and everything wasn't personally working for me. Everyone is so different when starting cannibas as well like the ratios and how your body and mind will react. It gave me so much hope back in my life but only down side I say about cannibas is the only with thc in my country we aren't allowed to drive, drowsiness. I don't feel much side effects but sometimes I would get very hungry and dizzy or just needing to lay down but no pain. That's for my personal experience but fibromyalgia is so rough and painful! You got this!

@sereno I can't legally drive anyway so that doesn't matter to me and the other symptoms I'm used to from my other medications. Fibromylagia is a bitch and I really wish that it had an unsubscribe button but sadly it doesn't

Many users have reported that medicinal cannabis has helped with their chronic pain and fibromyalgia. Some mentioned it helps brighten their mood, relieves pain, and improves sleep. However, some side effects noted include exacerbation of anxiety in some cases, feeling high or experiencing brain fog, and potential for increased pain if physical activity is overdone due to reduced pain sensation. One user also mentioned experiencing dizziness when first starting use due to figuring out the correct dosage.
