Considering a Medication Switch, Need Advice

Hi Alike Fam! I'm highly considering switching my meds soon, as I recently got genetic testing done and prozac is not great or very likely to work for me. I'm considering switching to pristiq, but I'm thinking I may need a mood stabilizer with it since it can cause hypomania and mania. thoughts? suggestions? experiences?

Can you help? connect today

I don't have any experience with those meds but Latuda really helped me with my manic episodes!

My psychiatrist used my GeneSight test to determine Duloxetine(Cymbalta) would help my depression symptoms and recently added Lamotrigine to stabilize my moods.

You could do both lamotrigine and desvenlafaxine. I've had great results with duloxetine and lamotrigine. I had GeneSight done but found that meds like duloxetine and lamotrigine, which weren't indicated best for me, gave me better results. It's not a hard-and-fast test and reference.

Trileptal as well as Vistaril have done wonders for my anxiety, stabilizing my mood, and decreasing and balancing my mania as I am Schizoaffective Bipolar Type and I am also on antidepressants that can cause mood swings
