Hello I am considering going back on medication for my anxiety/ocd/derealzation. Please Comment below what medications you guys found that have helped with these conditions! I was on prestiq in the past which helped a lot but the withdrawals were absolutely brutal. Looking to try something new.

I was prescribed Cymbalta for the off label usage of painkiller, which didn’t work for me. What it did do was practically erase my crippling anxiety. I’ve got so many other things going on that I only got a few months reprieve (had to start taking codeine again, became dependent, etc, etc), but dear god it was amazing. Strangely, I find my ADHD meds help with my anxiety, despite being stimulants. During the current Adderall shortage (which dominoed into an all stimulant shortage), my anxiety level has definitely been affected by having to lower doses, switch back and forth between meds, using immediate rather than extended release, in addition to the anxiety caused by the situation. Wellbutrin has a small amount of stimulant in it, may be something to look into? Conversely, TMS almost eliminated a family friend’s anxiety (severe enough she was able to get TMS in Canada when UBC was doing trials), while only slightly helping her depression. I had the exact opposite response: chronic depression (20 years! Insurance completely covered TMS because I had tried so many different treatments), gone. Anxiety? Still there, but surprisingly easier to deal with without the crippling depression. I’m not sure if this was helpful or just ramble-y. Still not back on right ADHD meds, but might be by tomorrow!!

Prozac kept me stable since I got much worse on lexapro and couldn’t eat on Zoloft. But I really liked Prozac. I’m not currently on anything since I haven’t had much luck with my mental issues and ssri medications.

I have tried so many ssris and snris and they make my anxiety way worse and horrible side effects...I have been trying to cope almost daily with physical manifestations of anxiety on my own and it's so freaking hard

I tried zoloft first. It was not a good fit at all and completely ruined all the coping skills and self that i had worked so hard on. I lost all of my progress. Then i went to lexapro, it was better but kept me kinda stuck in a place where i was okay alone and wasnt having deppresive/ocd thoughts. But my anxiety was still there. Thats just what it did for me. But i do suggest lexapro if you need to get back to a "stable" spot if it works for you anything like me

@Feral unfortunately lexapro made me Suicidal :( was not a good fit for me. I heard it works very well for people though
