How did you get your manual wheelchairs? I'm in Australia, with fibromyalgia and unable to get medical assistance, and i am losing my mobility. How did you afford your chairs?

I got my custom chair paid for by insurance. You need a prescription for insurance to pay, at least in the US

Agreed, in the US, lots of our churches, charity groups, and even some hospital associated groups. Also, if your doctor writes a prescription, durable medical equipnent is covered by insurance.

Speak to the Red Cross they have loan chairs, also there are plenty of disabled charities that will either supply or sell youba second hand one.

One user mentioned that they bought a wheelchair at Walmart, but it was not customized to their needs. Others did not specify where they got their wheelchairs from or how they afforded them. It's important to consult with a healthcare professional for advice on obtaining and funding a suitable wheelchair for your specific needs.
