Hey folks, 66 here. Got hit with Mantle Cell Lymphoma about 7 years back and have been keeping an eye on it with regular blood tests. Then, boom, a couple of weeks ago, this big lump just showed up out of nowhere. My doc's talking about starting chemo and laid out my options: Rituximab with Bendamustine or throwing Cytarabine into the mix as well. If anyone's been down this road and can share their experience or advice, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks a ton!

There are many different treatments available however it depends on your unique situation as to what one will benefit you the most. I think the most impotant thing you can do if you have not already is find a MCL specialist. They can match you to treatment by your biomarkers and your unique MCL much better than a general oncologist can . Hoping you get the right answers

I went through a treatment mix of Velcade, Rituxan, Cyclophosphamide, Adriamycin, and prednisone, and honestly, it did wonders for me. By the end of my treatment, my PET scan was all clear, showing a complete response. Now, I'm on Rituximab as my maintenance treatment.

"Rituximab and Bendamustine are often used together as a standard treatment for mantle cell lymphoma, and adding cytarabine can enhance the effectiveness of the regimen in some cases. However, the choice ultimately depends on various histological disease factors, the stage of your disease, your overall health, and potential side effects. It's important to discuss with your doctor about the pros and cons and how they fit your individual situation. Some patients have reported side effects like mouth sores, flu-like symptoms, headaches, hair loss and generally an increased risk of infections from using Cytarabine."
