look for plant based products that have low net carbs. When I do want something sweet, I eat one or two dark chocolate squares (86% cacao is good). On rare occasion, I will get a pint of plant based low net carb ice cream. But I make it last a week or more. VERY RARE OCCASION. Learn to eat good fats. Avocados, nuts, chia seed are great options. Know this. Changing the diet is challenging, but once you cut the crap out of your diet, your body adjusts and craves the good way more than the refined. Watch Dr. Eric Berg and Wholesome Yum on YouTube for more ideas.

It seems to me we all have to stop eating food we like as diabetics or none at all!… I hate being a diabetic for real!

High protein diet. No carbs. No sugar.

I also eat plant based proteins more than animal. The reason is because the animal protein comes with its own set of issues, even organic fed. So I have all but eliminated meat, chicken, never, ever pork.

thank you. I eat low carbs. I don't think it is safe to eliminate all carbs. I eat mostly complex carbs. Vegetables and some fruit (Gala apples, berries, tomatoes). I read labels on everything before buying. Since I posted this, my blood glucose has lowered to 160-168. I went from 145 to 140. I can fit 30" waist pants again! So on the right track I think. I have all but cut out sugar, it's in the form of artificial sweetener.

I didn't eat for 3 weeks. No food no water. My sugar was still 160 to 170

Wow!! That's crazy! Maybe the body responds to lack of food/water by releasing glucose?
