I am a retired geriatric nurse so have a lot of experience dealing with this. I always loved the elderly and this was what I chose to do. I also took care of my grandmother when she had cancer. And my younger sister twice after she needed help after medical issues. I pray always for guidance. And I give a lot of love to whomever I'm taking care of. I focus on what I'm doing, the person I'm taking care of, and also take things one step at a time, so I don't feel so overwhelmed. I hope this helps

I care for my mom who is the beginning of dementia. She calls out during the night and needs to be comforted I am not crazy religious, but I have found comfort in leaning on GD, plus talking to my girlfriends. I watch tv or movies. I wish you the best
