Managing POTS without medication

I was recently diagnosed with POTS and I have increased my salt and hydration intake but my doctor doesn't want to put me on any medication because I am extremely med resistant. Is there anything that I can do to help mitigate the POTS?

Be careful with caffeine though if you decide to have it. I have gotten to the point where if I have a cup of coffee I end up in the ER after an hour or two. Very disappointed because I love coffee! I also keep compression socks, especially for work and school days! I’ve heard salt pills are good and drinking something like Body Armor or Liquid IV can be more beneficial than plain water.

I loveee my compression stockings!! Get the ones that go all the way up to your waist. If i have a day where I can’t get out of bed or stand up or even sit up because my blood pressure is too low I put them on and it helps so much! Sometimes I still can’t walk around with them on but i drink some coffee and it gets better. Caffeine helps me a lot too

I wish I could take medication but my body is resistant to the point that one of two things happen. 1) the medication. I am given does absolutely nothing. 2) the medication that I am given gives me all of the side effects including the emergency ones even on the lowest dose and hardly works.

I'm currently taking pyridostigmine and fludrocortisone for my POTS, and they've changed the game for me! If you have blood pooling, compression stockings are also excellent
