Managing POTS Triggers in the Summer Heat

Does anyone else struggle with heat as a POTS trigger? With summer approaching I’m already struggling. If this is an issue for you how do you manage it?

I have a neck fan and 2 bedroom fans on top of some subpar air conditioning.

Heat intolerance is probably one of my worst symptoms and triggers given I live in the desert and hitting 100°F+ in the spring and 120°F in the summer is more common than not ... My best friends have become my rechargable fan, salt, water, SEVERAL icepacks (haven't been able to obtain an ice vest yet) and an umbrella. I may look wonky but I now can avoid ER visits as well as fainting most times when it comes to heat.

Absolutely. I work retail and our store is miserably hot and making my symptoms worse. I make sure to stay hydrated and get a lot of salt.

I have a rechargeable fan, water, and salty snacks at all times. I always know where to sit ahead of time just in case

I invested in a cooling vest. They’re expensive but for the days I have to be outside and it’s super hot it’s 100% worth it to be able out longer than an hour without passing out.

Yep! The heat is such a trigger for me for my migraines too. I make sure to get plenty of salt + water.
