I learned a lot from dr. Ben Lynch he is on YouTube and he has a supplement company called seeking health that is geared towards people with this mutation because he has it himself. I take hydroxo B12 folinic acid lozenges I get from seeking health. Do detox by way of sauna an Epsom salt bath this definitely helps. Eating a Whole Foods diet and trying to avoid a lot of processed foods as well

The thing that helped me the most was switching to a plant based diet.

the Mediterranean and anti inflammatory diet has done wonders for me, although I feel like I’ve plateaued recently and am considering methyl folate/deplin 15, betaine, and or SAM-E. I’m requesting a blood test at my PCP apt next week for my b vitamins, folate, magnesium, iron, potassium, calcium, sulfate, and homocysteine levels now that I’ve been off all supplements for a few months. I am also heterozygous for the Val158Met polymorphism in the COMT gene, and I’ve read that methyl folate might not work for me bc of it. But then again, my PCP believes that Dirty Genes is hogwash and not grounded in medical evidence, which I’m inclined to believe since Ben Lynch’s book is designed to generate his companies supplement sales. Huge conflict of interest. I recommend Drew Ramsay’s Eat to Beat Depression and Anxiety book instead, since he’s a Columbia u professor of psychiatry, has an integrative psychiatric practice and training program which aims to bring nutrition courses into USA medical schools.

i heard if we cut out all folic acid out of our diet that really helps, i’m still working on that. but i did switch to like folate instead of folic acid vitamins and those help so much and don’t make me feel sick like other vitamins! i use the smarty pants prenatal as just a multivitamin
