Has anyone been able to manage their anxiety and live a regular life without taking medications? I tried Lexapro and it made me so so sick and made my anxiety so much worse so now I'm scared to try anything else. I'm doing emdr and I'm trying to be hopeful that I can conquer the panic attacks and anxiety or at least manage it so I can live my life again..

Have you tried CBD? I take CBD that has zero THC in it, so that’s available if you don’t want THC in it. It keeps my panic attacks at bay. If I do have them, they’re very brief and no where near as severe as they were before CBD. There’s no side effects to it and it’s non-psychoactive.

I have my boyfriend and he helps a lot he also helps me to get home if I panic he never pushes me too far but I feel bad because of my panic disorder and anxiety we haven't been able to have a real date in like 2 years we always just do at home date or we go grab takeout and bring it home. I want to get better and i get angry that I'm not better at the speed I think I should be getting there. I know it takes time and to chip away at it in baby steps I gotta keep remembering progress isn't linear and as long as I keep moving forward I'm not staying in place.

Has anyone tried hydroxizine for panic attacks? I have a rx but have yet to try it.

I have not tried any medications due to my underlying fear of the unknown side effects, but day by day I breath and try to focus on the "now" to help ground myself. It's hard but worth it

@Monkey88 I am trying to reintroduce going places farther than like 30 min from my house but since quarantine it's been so hard to go out out

@Cassidae Same here. I have found myself 'living' through my children who ventures out without me. Do you have any close friends or a spouse who can help? My hubby helps me with the getting out he knows my anxiety gets bad and he's very supportive and helps keep me focused on my goal. When you do get out set a goal on how far you want to go and work (small steps) towards it like maybe go 35 min from home and a few weeks later try 40. Before my hubby I never went more than 30 min and would freak out if I can't get home fast.

i relate to this, i tried Lexapro as my first medication and it made me SO incredibly anxious about the most mundane things. eventually i ended up on Effexor which is much better for me, and i also started therapy

When I first tried meds they all made me incredibly sick too. I tried so many and gave up for awhile. Eventually I got desperate and tried again. This time the doctor prescribed hydroxyzine along with sertraline (zoloft). I took them both at night. I think the hydroxyzine helped me sleep through the sickness maybe? I'd wake up starving but not sick like before. I stopped the hydroxyzine after 4-5 months, I think it gave my body time to adjust to the sertraline. I know this doesn't really answer your question but it wasn't until I found a medicine to take the edge off until I could see a difference with natural therapies.
