Making Friends with Social Anxiety

How do I make friends when I’m constantly overthinking my every move, and afraid to go outside to meet people?

You’re not alone. I’d say get introduced toward mutuals. If your sibling has a friend meet that friend and see if you click so you won’t have to go out of your way to meet someone new. As you get the gist of this (it’ll take time of course) you can move on to bigger things like classmates, co workers, and more.

I feel the same. But after talking with my therapist I have found that exposure therapy help. Just making small efforts to communicate with others is a good step. It may be just reaching out to family or friends to say hello. Giving someone a compliment on the street, asking for directions. All these things help even though they are small steps. You want to make sure you became fully not to trigger yourself and if you do by minimal exposure you should learn some healthy coping strategies such as breathing to soothe you.

I am the same. I don't have any friends and the thought of going out and meeting new people makes my chest tighten up so quickly.

I would love the answer to this as well, I feel like just one good friend could really help reduce the depression that comes hand in hand with the social anxiety.

I have this problem too, especially whenever it takes time to feel myself around a group of ppl at once. I’d say take time getting to know one person and build connection there,

I know it's not for everyone, but my medication really made all the difference for me.

The struggle is real. I wish I know the answer but all I can say is that alot of people are feeling exactly as you do.
