Struggling to Make Friends as an Adult

I always have a hard time making friends. Especially as an adult. I’m on a Facebook/meetup group to go out and be social with people my age, but I’m afraid to actually go or introduce myself. I don’t really have any friends I hang out with other than my boyfriend, and it’s just getting too much to put all of that on him. What do I do?

      I’m 31 and have no idea how to make friends now that I’m not in college and work from home. It’s pretty much just my wife and I (and living in a less-than-friendly for queer folks area). I totally understand!

      Relate to this so hard, I get so anxious about going places without knowing anyone to the point that I just don't do anything. Maybe find a regularly scheduled activity that you like and have your boyfriend go with you the first time? Then the second time you will have at least some familiar faces. That's how I was able to start going out to yoga

      Join virtual Meetups! I don’t have a lot of friends besides my girlfriend so I understand where you’re coming from. After all these years of high school and college, it seems to have become a moot point for me.
