Hi everyone. I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I've always wondered why it didn't take much pressure on my body to cause pain, and my mom always called me a hypochondriac. Of course, back then not many people had heard of fibromyalgia. Today I am on Lyrica and was wondering if anyone here has taken it and if so; have you had any side effects?
Thank you in advance for any responses.

I took Lyrica a few years ago. I had to stop it because it caused me to become super depressed! If you have any prior depression or mental health problems, be very, very careful with Lyrica!

Thank you. I have noticed some depression that comes and goes. I've been watching and making sure it doesn't get too bad. šŸ™‚

Thank you so much for your comments. I’ve been prescribed everything from lyrica to tramadol to duloxetine and now hydrocodone, might take the edge off a bit but not the pain in general. Have kind of a combination of things including osteoarthritis which of course gets worse as we age. Part of my issue is that I don’t look like someone in chronic pain and it’s amazing how judgmental people can be! I think there r some including family members who think I’m a hypochondriac as well. Some days it does get a bit depressing but I do try to keep on moving! If I win the lottery I’d try for a massage every few days! lol.

I gained weight with Lyrica and ended up switching to gabapentin. Not sure if it's better but that's what the doc decided to do

šŸ™ I take cymbalta 120 mg for my fibromyalgia it stopped me from having bad flare ups. I do still have all over body pain but not like I did before I went on the medication. I also take gabapentin it take 1800 mg in the morning and 2400 mg at night. I also have osteoarthritis, degenerative discs disease, and adhesive arachnoiditis in my low spine where I had my fusion done and the doctor damage is the nerves thing that cause that condition. I did try Lyrica but it didn't work for me and you can't be on gabapentin and Lyrica at the same time.

I was on gabapentin for a while, but I didn't want to keep adding more mgs just to stay on top of the pain. The lyrica seems to help, but I too have osteoarthritis with constant pain in my back. I'm thinking weekly massages would be nice....
