How to differentiate between a lupus flare and a bad day?

How do you know if you’re having a lupus flare or if it’s just a bad day? I was only diagnosed with lupus 6 months ago but am on Plaquenil and getting once a month infusions of saphnelo.

Does the Saphnelo help you? I’ve tried methotrexate, Imuran, and the Plaquenil but none are helping me much at all. My insurance is refusing to pay for Benlysta. All of them have awful side effects. I hate all of the medication.

In my case, it must be a flare. There’s nothing that feels even close to it. It involves my joints, chest, head and skin
