hello, I was diagnosed with lung cancer in February. I have not started treatment but I am scheduled to begin Proton therapy and low dose chemo in the next week. I'm not a candidate for surgery as my tumor is on the upper lobe of my right lung. I have had three broncostomy, the last two to debunk the tumor. Just trying to see if anyone else has had a similar diagnosis and treatment plan.

I was recently told I have lung cancer smh I have to go for the lung biopsy but I have to say I'm scared about it, and it takes a lot to scare me smh They said there's a 15 percent chance my lung will collapse smh After that, there's radiation treatments and I'll probably lose my hair smh😔

@Anne8769 prayers for healing. Please never feel defeated! On my 3rd diagnoses. 2nd one did hospice but this time....nope. enjoying every single day I have with a positive attitude...won't lay down to die. God shows me consistently He's in control🥰

@uno That the way!! Show the world you mean it!! They can factor in the disease x meds x age = life expectancy BUT the real equation looks more like this: Disease x meds x age x new meds x attitude x quality of care = life expectancy. And since the can't know the factors of attitude and new meds they can't really say how long you'll live!! I'm with you! Never give up and lay down!!

I am a former smoker too. Quit in 2016. Start Proton therapy tomorrow. Have 35 sessions scheduled monday thru Friday too. Tuesday will be my first chemo session, after my radiation session. Right now chemo is scheduled once a week. Oncologist said I will start immunotherapy after my treatments are over too.

I am a former smoker. I quit in 2007. Diagnosed at the beginning of 2022. Took an herbal protocol for cancer for 5 months before going to Moffitt Cancer Center for another opinion. My large tumor grew in my left lung from 7cm to 10cm, however, several smaller tumors in the right lung are gone! I'm not a candidate for surgery so just started 4/26/22 chemotherapy/radiation. Two rounds of chemo. One on the 26th and another scheduled for 5/16. I have 33 radiation appointments. Mon. to Fri. for 6 1/2 weeks. My chemo drugs are carboplatin and permextred. The drugs I am taking for side effects seem to be working. 6 days since chemo and no nausea. I will start one year of immunotherapy after my treatments are over.

Hoping the best for you. On my 3rd round of lung cancer. Surgery first time, hospice second time. For me personally, won't do treatment but one thing I know, God is a healer🥰. Prayers and blessings
