So what's helped me in terms of saving money on food is subscribing to a community supported agriculture (CSA) package. I get biweekly deliveries on fresh produce/fruit and a monthly delivery of 15 pounds of assorted meat. I find that's so helpful because 1. I've saved a ton of money on food, my rate I pay won't go up at all this season (i pay 75 a month for 15 pounds of meat!) and 2. I can meal plan without being overwhelmed at the grocery store when all my produce is already picked out for those two weeks. I had to make changes to my diet as well, and when I didn't have to think about what food I was going to eat each week, I could actually plan out meals that were appropriate.

I can't remember what it was called, but there is salt free seasonings and such that will work. Salt substitutions are kinda nasty though. I've added less salt if any when I cook anyway. Garlic adds quite a bit without salt. Make your own seasoning mixes instead of buying them so you can control the amount of salt. 👍

You can try Mrs.Dash seasonings, They have low sodium Adobe and sazon. And as stated above Garlic is great. Use fresh or powered not the garlic salt as it has salt in it.
