Lost sense of smell and taste after Covid

I had Covid in the end of November 2021. Sense then I have lost my sense of smell and taste. I get glimpse of smell and taste but its distorted. So most of the time I smell cigarette smoke from the moment I get up until I go to bed and I am not a smoker, neither is anyone in our home. Also when I drink citrus drink or try to eat oranges it all tastes like I am eating the orange peels instead or drinking them. Some food that were never spicy are extremely spicy and chocolate tastes like creamer or coolwhip. This is so frustrating and I just want it fixed.

I read last week that turmeric has restored sense of smell to some who lost it to a virus, usually within 24hrs to a few days. Worth a try since it's supposed to reduce inflammation too.

I had covid back in July 2021 and I am just starting to get my smell and taste back and it's gradual. I can smell oranges but when I taste it, that's a different story. I used to not be able to taste chicken but now I can to a certain extent. Yesterday at my job when I walked outside for break, I could smell the freshly cut grass strong. I got chicken from Walmart and the smell was intense. I also have other issues from covid also. I have a hiatal hernia that I believe was brought on my covid. I also have lpr symptoms from the hernia. That has in a way became better but I have my days.
