What to do when things disappear into thin air?

Hi. I'm going to get right to it. What should I do when things totally disappear into thin air? I have managed to lose my belt. It is not on any of the 3 pairs of pants I wear. It has not fallen beside my bed. I have torn up the house looking for it. This is a constant issue for all clothing because I have to buy more. Some of it still hasn't been found.

Adhd you are on to the next thing or not focused or in the present moment so you walk in the house, put your keys down and can't remember where. Treated you have more order. Are you treated?

I make a place for everything and make sure to always put it there, it takes a while to get into a routine but if you keep at it and dont get discouraged it could help, especially if you put it in easy and sensible, to you at least we all have our own processes, location that makes following the routine a lot easier. I'm the "finder" in my household and no one else will do that so I have to be strict about my stuff so I have the energy to find theirs for them.

I have to create select places that I am allowed to set certain things down. My belt MUST go on a certain hook or I cannot set it down. I still slip up, but it's helped. No idea how to deal with the vanishing objects, though. When things disappear they're gone forever. I hate buying things that I already own.

Omg, I thought I was the only one that loses my belt and can't find it anywhere. Currently going through that now. Week two and still haven't found it

I normally remember that I put it in 'logical' spots like my belt will be with my pants, my pants will be on the floor next to the bath. Things like that
