Lost in my own room

I woke up the other night having to pee really bad. So I rolled out the bed on my side and hit the wall. said to myself, "can't go that way" and I rolled across the bed to the other side. then I was lost. I couldn't find the door or the light. I was feeling around and couldn't recognize where I was. I had to pee so bad I thought I was gonna pee right there in the middle of my room. Everyone laughs when I tell them this but I was so scared. I could not place myself and I didn't even think to scream for help. I was lost in my own room. :(

I’m so sorry this happened- it sounds so frightening, to wake up this way. Are you on any antidepressants? They say it is very rare to hallucinate from SSRIs, but it happened to me. About 7 weeks on Zoloft I started to have the strangest hallucinations just before bedtime. Once I thought my room was filling with water, I ran out into the hallways screaming (in an apartment building in NYC). Another time I was panicked because I ‘didn’t lock the door in the floor’ and kept crawling around on the floor searching for it in a panic (never had a door there). This was years ago now, but it was so real, I was terrified and so, so confused. Went off Zoloft immediately and haven’t had any of these episodes since. My doc didn’t believe me at first because it’s less than 1% that this happens to, but there are millions on SSRIs - so this does happen frequently. Good luck 🙏

wow that must have been frightening for you. When I was on zoloft I was baker acted because I just could not stop crying and I couldn't get out of bed. I dont like that med at all. As for this, it didn't cross my mind it could be a hallucination. I just thought I forgot where I was but you could be right. I think I'm only on SSRIs and it's only happened the one time which was 2-3 weeks ago. Ill mention it to my dr to see what she thinks.
