Losing Weight with Hypothyroidism: Need Help!

Has anyone been successful in losing weight with hypothyroidism ? I am doing intermittent fasting, but seeing extremely low rate of weight loss and feel like demotivated. Please suggest supplements for thyroid and boosting metabolism, and tips for weight loss 🙁

Hi. I feel like my comment won't help much. I feel like my case is strange and lucky. I've always had a slow metabolism. I did and for the most part still intermittent fast. It was never on purpose. I've done it since 3rd grade. I was just never a fan of breakfast. I stopped in 7th grade when my mom forced me to eat breakfast. Now I don't eat breakfast because I sleep in a lot. I'm sure intermittent fasting has messed up my metabolism more. I would recommend eating smaller more frequent meals or intuitive eating. Levothyroxine did most of the work in the beginning. Intuitive eating is what helped me after. Along with muscle focused exercises. This can help boost metabolism. I'm interested in the other methods suggested.

So from personal experience, I had a medication issue happen at the hospital and caused hypothyroidism. Skip ahead 2 months going from 142 to 280lbs. I had to look at my diet; 3 large courses isnt the best option. I did 5 small courses looking at average calories/not exact due to anxiety and ocd causing stress. It took me now 4 years fulling to reach my 100lbs loss. Some of it was very healthily done; exercise/work in security(always moving), looked at if my food was perishable, if it is, sadly it’s usually the healthy or more expensive option. Some of the loss was due to stress and fear of judgement. Not all of my case is relatable, BUT I LOST THE WEIGHT. You definitely can too! I didn’t personally use dietary supplements, I did talk to my doc about vitamin supplements, I do also suggest talking to them for a thyroid count maybe to check the levels making sure they’re not wonky. I wish you the best, you got this ❤️ 🙏
