Should I risk a long distance relationship?

My daughter & her girlfriend are 3000 miles apart & have done well. They have been together for several years now. I think that if you are careful with your feelings and patient with the distance you will be fine to date him. A friend of my daughter is dating someone in another country & they are doing fine. With video calls & such available now it is much easier to have a healthy long distance relationship. My other daughter dated her boyfriend 18 hours away for several years before she moved in with him. It isn't always going to be easy but as long as the two of you are willing to put in the work you will be fine. My biggest advice I is when you meet him in person for the first time have a safe place to go just in case. Most likely nothing bad would happen, but you always need to be prepared. Both of my daughters had family within an hour or two from where they were going to meet for the first time.

I would see if long distance works out for you. I’m sure it’ll be a lot of work but may end up being something that lasts!
