Stress definitely screws with me. When was your appendectomy?

I didn't find out about my IBS til I was 10 years old. But I have had it all my life. I didn't know abuse or trauma could bring it on though.

Long ago. Had problems ever since. Had adhesions immediately after (age13). Then surgery to relieve them at 35 and I was told they come back. I expect that normally… my gut is sensitive without throwing a wrench into the works. Maybe that’s an applicable theory?

So you got your appendicitis out

I have to say the appendectomy seems to be a common denominator. I’m still trying to figure out how the adhesions could be causing inflammation

Hi, I got diagnosed right around the same time as you? Mine stemmed from a horrible car accident in 2004, so a traumatic experience like that ? Caused my IBS to creep up and I was diagnosed in 2006. For years, I’ve worried different diets and etc . Recently I got COVID ? And now I’m back to having troopers and flares but my doctor put me on a LowFodMap diet. It seems to be working . And I’m happier again. So mental health is also key cuz it could really bring you down or make you more irritable and anxious.

Hello. I see the appendectomy. Adhesions suck and seem to be a player in the ibs world. Every day is a challenge to get moving after a long morning in the bathroom. Keep working on your condition and at working as much as you can. Mental health is very important
