Living with a Chronic Illness: My Experience

For me being older now, but have had this condition for like 20+ years, I only push myself if it’s absolutely necessary otherwise I sleep 😴 and that’s ok because that’s what my body requires. I definitely don’t love it but it is what it is (😂even tho I hate that saying)!!!

I was diagnosed 24 years ago. It took 3 years of overdoing things before I began to accept my limitations. I am 70 now and even more proactive than in the past. Unless an event is absolutely necessary to me, I pass it by. When I do attend something, I don't overstay. My husband is also good at recognizing when I am tiring, so I always have his support to leave or rest. If seating is an issue, such as bleachers, which aggravate my back pain, then we bring our own folding fabric chairs that support my back. It is difficult to accept limitations, but it is very important to your health and well being to do so.
