Lithium for Bipolar 1: Any Side Effects?

Hey guys! I was just wondering how helpful Lithium has been for Bipolar 1 from anyone. also any side effects I should look out for? I'm concerned about weight gain. I was on effexor once and it made me gain like 20 pounds and I felt horrible. Thanks!!

      @Alina123 Studying nutrition helps understand what my brain and body needs to control my thoughts and emotions šŸ™ also adding counseling long term and exercise and a healthy diet is essential to brain balance along with remedies I am still researching.

      I am bipolar type one gained too much weight it is why I got off found another solutions research a lot now I am studying nutrition for that very reason.

      Iā€™ve been on lithium for a while now and havenā€™t gained any weight itā€™s been pretty helpful at managing my episodes. Just remember medications donā€™t make episodes go away for the most part. They just tend to make them less severe and more manageable. I have had one hypo manic episode since being on lithium and Iā€™d call that a win since it didnā€™t reach full mania

      Im On lithium currently. I feel like I havenā€™t felt as bad as I used to but itā€™s made me feel numb. Iā€™ve gained 7 pounds.
