Lithium for Bipolar 1: Any Side Effects?

Hey guys! I was just wondering how helpful Lithium has been for Bipolar 1 from anyone. also any side effects I should look out for? I'm concerned about weight gain. I was on effexor once and it made me gain like 20 pounds and I felt horrible. Thanks!!

I am bipolar type one gained too much weight it is why I got off found another solutions research a lot now I am studying nutrition for that very reason.

Studying nutrition helps understand what my brain and body needs to control my thoughts and emotions 🙏 also adding counseling long term and exercise and a healthy diet is essential to brain balance along with remedies I am still researching.

I’ve been on lithium for a while now and haven’t gained any weight it’s been pretty helpful at managing my episodes. Just remember medications don’t make episodes go away for the most part. They just tend to make them less severe and more manageable. I have had one hypo manic episode since being on lithium and I’d call that a win since it didn’t reach full mania

Im On lithium currently. I feel like I haven’t felt as bad as I used to but it’s made me feel numb. I’ve gained 7 pounds.
