I'm currently going through titration with Elvanse (Lisdexamfetamine), currently on 40mg, I'm not sure how much it helps me focus. I had a day off if it and got really bad generalised anxiety with nothing particularly happening to trigger it. So it seems to bring my anxiety under control, but I don't feel particularly more focused on it. However, it's hard to tell. What is everyone else's experience with Lisdexamfetamine? Thanks. x

is this the first adhd med you've tried? a lot of the time people starting on meds have been given unrealistic expectations of what it will feel like. it's not always an extreme difference, especially on lower doses, which is why it's so hard to tell. i would say talk to your doctor about how you're feeling, they might want to try a higher dose, which i think is worthwhile. vyvanse works really well for me, but only at higher doses. and don't forget to consider how it's affecting other areas, like how well you can follow a conversation and get your thoughts together, how much motivation you have for less-pleasant tasks, etc.

One user reported that they have been on Lisdexamfetamine (Elvanse/Vyvanse) for about 6 months and it has helped them a lot, mainly with getting out of bed in the morning, and with emotional regulation. However, they also mentioned that the medication can cause them to hyperfocus on unhelpful tasks so they have to be careful to direct their energy in the right place. They still struggle a bit with distraction but generally feel they have more energy in the day to do household tasks. Another user who takes Vyvanse (lisdexamphetamines) reported that once the medication kicks in, which takes about 1.5 - 2 hours from taking them, the difference is literally unmissable.
