Has anyone tried Linzess for mixed type IBS?

Has anyone with mixed type IBS tried Linzess, and if so, what was your experience with it like? I cycle through constipation and diarrhea, and I’m more comfortable having diarrhea in whatever bathroom I’m near and then moving on with my life until the next time I have to poo. I hate constipation and nothing really works for me to prevent it except for Miralax every day, which I also hate. 😅

i tried it a couple years ago, but even at the lowest dose it was way too much for me… to put it kindly, it was messy and too urgent to make it to the toilet… after that i stuck with miralax

Yikes! Thanks for sharing your experience. If Miralax could just make a pill version, I’d be fully on board—I hate drinking liquid medicines/supplements.

I have IBS-C & it worked for me at the correct dose. I think 145 or somewhere around there. Start low & move up as needed. It can have you running to the bathroom though & it’s like watery diarrhea. Or pooping straight water. I used to only take it once I got home from work, or if I would be home all day. It’s important to drink enough liquid to get things moving, but don’t overdo it because the more liquids you drink before or after taking it, the more watery bathroom trips you’ll have. I’ve had up to like 5 after one dose of medication. This stuff will clean you out. I actually use it very sparingly now. I have found that either magnesium citrate pills or Up & Up Produra probiotics at Target every night work just as well for constipation, if not better. Fiber One cereal followed by a glass of liquid every morning works well too.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I looked into those probiotics, and I’m ordering some to try (in addition to the align I’ve been taking for ages)!
