Struggling to Keep a Job and Maintain Mental Health

I can't hold down a job because of how much it exhausts me. I have no idea what to do. I've been working restaurant jobs in and off for two years because of how much a job and college destroys me mentally. And then if I have the job I constantly call out because I'm too exhausted or depressed to go and do it. I'm running low on money and the gig based stuff isn't working and I don't even know what to do anymore. It doesn't help that my passions won't bring me any money, because even though it's work, it's something I can get through.

Teleworking contracted transcribing work - work from home, part-time, flexible hours. :) Law office preferably. Medical transcribing takes some time to learn.

you have no idea how much I relate to this. i feel like this constantly. i keep having to retake classes because i keep missing lectures from being too tired to drive. i pray that everything works out for you. i'm here if you ever need to chat (or rant) about it with someone that understands. i feel like no one in my life understands how hard this is.

Chronic fatigue is no joke. I'm so sorry you're also having to pace your activity levels because of the exhaustion. I need to mostly rest and sleep to have enough energy for maybe 1-3 hours of activity in a day. It's rough. Thankfully, I do receive SSI for disabilities and now have a supportive partner but was nearly homeless during the process of applying for disability. A friend of mine had to cut their weekly work hours to 20 or less, I believe, and is still in the long process of applying for disability. We both had to hire an attorney. Mine worked for a portion of my back pay. But yeah, most people get denied and have to appeal and it takes ages. If you think you'd qualify, I would start on that process now (I only know about applying in the US). I know not everyone has access to healthcare and mental healthcare but I hope you're able to find some ways to cope and ride out those depression waves. 🌊
