Lexapro and sex drive: is there a connection?

hey! no idea if this is a side effect, because im also on another medication, but would lexapro lower ones sex drive (tmi i suppose sorry). thank you!!

Hi, haven’t experienced that side effect but I know it’s one of the things they tell you to look out for when taking lexapro. So definitely worth discussing with your doctor

yes, this was a pretty major side effect for me, and unfortunately it hasn’t gotten much better with time. if you have a partner, I would definitely recommend communicating with them about it, as an understanding partner can make a really helpful difference in dealing with this.

i definitely experience this! it didn’t help that i was also on birth control for the last four years but i guess when i think about how i felt off of meds i think it’s worth it

@Peony i literally am in the same boat. Taking lexapro and birth control and literally cant tell if theyre both doing it or what 😭 but i totally get you its super worth it
