My mom has know I am autistic since I was four but didn’t bother to tell me until I was 22, because “it didn’t seem important.” I have lost friends, relationships, jobs, etc because of my autism. It would have been good to know about before I faulted myself for all this stuff.

I was diagnosed in my 40's I had a diagnosed of schizophrenia one minute and then schiz affective but the last three psychiatrist think I am not. My current think I am not but when I told her that I have ASD she said that that's more understandable. I was missed diagnosed because I didn't understand what I was asked when I was in my early 20's.
