Has anyone else with endo ever had an ovarian cyst so large that it was palpable on your abdomen? I had one doctor feel it, and he told me it was an inguinal hernia and referred me to general surgery. I went to that appointment and he said it seemed like an ovarian cyst. I’m gonna have an ultrasound done, but just curious if anyone else has had this happen.

Yep. I was told it was probably cancer because at the time, we had no idea I have EDS and endometriosis. SUPER fun six months. I was 19. Six months later, I'm 20 by that point, I get a CT scan of my abdomen (where the cyst was palpable) and the cyst was large enough that it showed up. HUGE relief, and I had surgery to remove it and diagnose my endo, but I did not like thinking I was graduating high school and heading straight to surgery and chemo

I suffer from ovarian cyst and endometriosis. I have reoccurring cysts each month that cause me extreme pain and discomfort. My abdomen usually gets bloated and distended each month 😥

@Nikko81 By the time they removed the cyst in 2015 it was very big
It could possibly be a chocolate cyst. Google it if you dare but that's how I found out I had endo. I had a lump that could be felt near my c section scar. It was huge. Had surgery to remove it and it was a chocolate cyst and confirmed my endo diagnosis....and year later exactly another huge one showed up on the other side. Had to have surgery again but had a full emergency hysterectomy because it was just going to continue happening.
@BusyB I’m familiar with chocolate cysts 😬 I had excision surgery last year, I hope it’s not already back
I had a massive ovarian cyst- grapefruit sized at the time of surgery. I'm not sure why that doctor would go to hernia for a woman of reproductive years because cysts are common. I used Nancy's Nook to find a good OBGYN surgeon to remove my ovarian cysts. It's common to have endo elsewhere, and if you're getting a lproscopy anyway, you might as well get any kind of endometriosis excised as well so you don't need any more repeat surgeries. There's this doctors map I found on Reddit that has their list and others that people have gone to and had success with. See if there is someone in your area. https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/viewer?mid=1hd_-wSlqZWOlR5VxPhIN3oAbJh4
@chronicchemist I have a connective tissue disease, which is why he thought hernia (they’re quite common for people my disorder) I had excision of endo April last year, so it just seems kinda wild to me that it would be a cyst that is palpable, given I just had excision a year ago, albeit not impossible. I do have an appointment with my endo specialist at the end of the month, unfortunately it’s a video visit so she won’t be able to feel.
