Labeling Our System as Polyfrag: Is It Appropriate?

Hello. So, basically, we have a lot of fragments. So many that we don’t even keep track anymore. We stopped counting at around 55~ish, which was almost a year ago. We definitely have more than that, probably over 100 alters in total. I’m wondering what y’all’s opinion would be on us labeling our system polyfrag, even though we technically don’t know exactly how many alters we have, given that it’s likely around 100 or above?

from my understanding, a polyfragmented system is a system with a high alter count (which is completely subjective) and/or splits easily, such as autistic systems. but regardless of my interpretation of it, you are you and i am me. i dont know your system. you can use the term polyfrag if you feel it fits you, which even though my opinion doesn't matter greatly, i think it does

I've heard polyfrag means either "many alters" or "many fragments." And as for many, I've seen some say "dozens" as many, others say 100+. Others further say polyfragmented just means that their system has subsystems. It really depends on the person. If you feel it encompasses you, then use it! It's just a label, and if people are going to micromanage you over an alter count that isn't any of their business, they need to find something better to do.

you are perfectly valid and fine to do so!!! :)) polyfrag does not have to be 100+ just a “large” number from what I have read. whatever that makes y’all comfy <3 -mothie
