Jump sounds sudden. I recommend starting with developing a baseline of fitness using something low impact. After 6 weeks or so of that, or two weeks minimum, I would add weights of some kind to develop muscle. Muscle burns fat and raised your metabolism. That would be your amazing "jump start." If course, if you want results right away, you might try increasing protein and fiber, and decreasing carbs, especially added sugars and processed carbs. Fiber is hughly key ( haha, I coined a word there) and is what I consider to be the "secret" of diet plans like Optavia, for instance. Now if I could just get back on this wagon myself!!! I know it works.

I did not want Bariatric surgery so I opted for VLCD. Very Low Calorie program with weekly appointments with specialist to make sure I was safely losing weight. I also used a high protein shake meal replacement. I could not walk without a cane due to knee damage so my motivation was in place.
