My Journey with Depression and Bipolar Disorder

I was diagnosed with major depression for almost ten years before I was diagnosed as bipolar. Mania was much harder to catch.

I have had several anxiety my whole life. I had several miscarriages a few years ago and had post partum psychosis, which an Aunt also experienced when she had children. That led to me getting care, and a preliminary diagnosis of bipolar disorder a few years later. It all feels surreal to me, and I am following the plan of care, but I still don't totally believe the diagnosis. Can any of you relate? If so, does that ever change?

Unfortunately that is super common. If the mania doesn't feel bad, we don't think to report it to our doctors.
